March continued

I wanted to add a few more things, to my March post so here's the 2nd edition.

At the beginning of the month, we went to the Cozy Cow Dairy Farm for a field trip. It was a lot of fun. The kids loved seeing the cows being milked and they especially liked seeing the baby cows. We were able to buy some fresh cheese curds so we made poutine for supper. It was yummy.
St. Patrick's Day came on the 17th and we had a special supper. We had corned beef, cabbage, honey baked red potatoes, and a yummy Irish Soda Bread. For dessert, Irish Tea Cake with strawberries and whipped cream.

Here's a picture of the Irish Soda Bread. Everyone loved it. We will definitely try it again!

March

So far we've had lots of fun this month. There has been much to see and do.

Recently we were able to go to Sky Corral Lodge in the Mountains for a vision dinner. This small camp is fairly new and it specializes in family. This a place where the family can work together to be stronger in Christ. They have all kinds of fun things...fishing, archery, trail rides, hiking, theocaching (which is like geocaching but with a scripture emphasis), and many other things. We really enjoyed learning more about this ministry. Here's a few pictures of our day.
The Lodge

I thought this picture of the boots was cool.

They had so much mud there. Our kids loved playing in the mud (until D got stuck).

The kids had so much fun playing. They kept asking when we could go back again. I guess we will have to see.

North Carolina

Paul and I had so much fun in Raleigh. We spent our first day doing as much as possible because Paul was going to be in Conference Meetings the rest of the time. We were so tired because we hadn't slept on our Red Eye, but we did manage to see a lot.

One of the first things we noticed about Raleigh was all the trees. You would think that the road we were on was built in the middle of a forest. I loved the trees. I'm sure it would be beautiful in the spring. We found our hotel and then headed over to a shopping area to find a place for lunch. We decided on the Firebird Grille. What a wonderful choice it was. Paul and I shared a Colorado Chicken Salad that was absolutely delicious. Next, we headed to the Capitol area of Raleigh. We were able to tour the Science and Nature Museum, the Capitol Building, and a tiny portion of the Historical Museum. By the time we finished all of that, we were exhausted so we headed back to the hotel. We rested briefly and decided we better keep moving or we would fall asleep. We headed back to the shopping center where we had burgers for supper and then back to the Firebird for Creme Brulee Cheesecake. Yum! We walked around a little and then headed to the hotel. We watched a little TV, checked on the kids and went to bed.

Monday morning was beautiful. I went to work out while Paul attended the conference. I got my breakfast and brought it to the room to eat. Then it started to rain. I decided to drive to the North Hills Shopping Center and get my haircut. It was lots of fun. Then to Panera Bread for lunch. It was chilly so I had a Baked Potato Soup. Then to the room to watch some curling. Supper was at a BBQ place. It was all right. We didn't do much that evening...more TV and catching up on the computer. We talked to the kids again.

Tuesday was another beautiful morning. I walked to the shopping area. It was about 1.8 miles. I ate a yummy shortbread cookie from Panera bread while I drank my chai tea from Starbucks. Then a visit to a couple of stores and then lunch. I walked back and watched more Olympics. That evening we decided to go to a movie. We went to "The Blind Side." It was really good. After to Krispy Kreme donuts. Wow, their donuts fresh off the conveyor belt are the yummiest ever.

Wednesday we headed back to Krispy Kreme donuts for breakfast. I wanted some pictures of the building and the donut making process. After, I watched a movie on TV and then packed everything for our trip home. I went for one more cookie and Starbucks and then headed to pick up Paul. The rest of the trip was spent in the airports or on airplanes.

The kids were sleeping when we picked them up so we put them in the van and headed home. It was a wonderful trip. Here are a few pictures.
